The Phoenix Suns are finally free of Markieff Morris. Keef has made things difficult in Phoenix this year, after the team traded his brother, so he finally got his wish.
He was dealt to the Wizards for a draft pick. At this point, I’m sure Phoenix would’ve taken anything just to get rid of him. For Washington, they have underachieved so far this year but can still sniff the playoffs. Let’s just hope this is worth the gamble for them because it’s certainly a roll of the dice.
Just before the Thursday deadline hit, the Suns agreed to a trade that sends Morris to the Washington Wizards for a draft pick that would stay with the Wizards if it is in the draft’s top nine. Washington currently has the NBA’s 12th-worst record but is only three games out of playoff position at 23-28.
“Today we added another first-round pick to our collection of picks while keeping our young core intact,” Suns General Manager Ryan McDonough said in a team statement. “We are excited to watch this group of players continue to develop and grow together.”
