The Cavs’ 34-point home loss to the Warriors is something they’d like to forget sooner rather than later. But how can they? Steph Curry boasted that he hoped Cleveland’s locker room still smelled like their victory champagne from last June, and Cleveland still came out and dropped a dud.
The day after, there was a lot of soul searching going on in Cleveland. While LeBron downplayed everything by stating it wasn’t “the end of the world,” Kevin Love is taking this a bit more seriously. Love thinks everyone needs to look in the mirror, including LeBron.
This is reminiscent of last year when LeBron inexplicably told Love on Twitter that he should make a better attempt to “fit in.” It’ll be interesting to see if any comes of this internally.
“We got beat up on our home floor tonight,” Love told reporters after the game Monday. “I think a lot of things went wrong, a lot of things we need to clean up in our preparation, but I think they’re the better team right now. We have a lot of things to get better at. That’s going to take a lot of guys looking themselves in the mirror and it all starts with our leader (James) over there and dwindles on down.”
