Despite the fact that Team USA brought home the gold medal at this past Olympic Games in London over a month ago, Nike Basketball decided to continue the celebration by releasing the ‘Gold Medal Pack’ later on this month. The set will feature the current signature sneakers of Kevin Durant, Kobe Bryant, & LeBron James as well as this years’ iteration of the Hyperdunk series.
The LeBron X, Zoom Kobe VII, and Lunar Hyperdunk are seen here in their home colorways with gold Swoosh branding signifying the place Team USA finished up this summer. Always one to stand out, Kevin Durant has the upper of his Zoom KD IV in gold with a black/gold speckled midsole, translucent outside and red branding.
It should be said that the first US release of the LeBron X will not hit store shelves priced at over $300 as tirelessly reported by mainstream media. The ‘Gold Medal’ LeBron X, Nike+ Basketball sensors included, will release for $270.
Even though the LeBron X comes into this release as the most talked about basketball sneaker in some time due to the high price tag which has made it infamous, there is no doubt in my mind that the ‘Gold Medal’ Zoom KD IV will be the most sought after in this pack.
The Nike Basketball – ‘Olympic Gold Medal’ Pack releases on September 29th at different prices. The Zoom KD IV retails at $95 with the Lunar Hyperdunk & Zoom Kobe VII priced at $140 and LeBron X+ Sports Pack releasing at $270.
