Michael Jordan Offered Tiger Woods Piece of Bobcats; Woods Declined

It’s not easy being the most recognizable face in your sport, or even one of the most recognizable people on the planet. Maybe it was that excessive fame and accompanying responsibility, or maybe it was the mutual love for each others sport which brought these two juggernauts together as friends. For years Michael Jordan and Tiger Woods have been friends, playing golf together, socializing together, and notably gambling together.

As Tiger Woods prepares this week for the upcoming PGA Championship in hopes of winning his 15th major tournament of his career, the media is peppering Woods with questions. You may find this particular line of questioning interesting about his desire to own a professional sports team. This Charlotte Observer reporter is claiming Michael Jordan once offered Woods a piece of the Charlotte Bobcats pie. Only to be denied…

Someone asked if he’d like to one day invest in a professional sports franchise, the way Phil Mickelson has with the San Diego Padres.

“Absolutely. I just need a lot more money,” Woods said. “My teams are the Lakers, the Dodgers and the Raiders, so I’ve got to play really well.”

His buddy, Michael Jordan, might make a piece of the Charlotte Bobcats available. If rumors are true, he already has and Woods declined. Maybe if they changed their team colors to purple and gold or sold Dodger Dogs.
