The shortened 66-game schedule has taken it’s toll on a number of players and teams. Despite the Bulls having the best record once again, Derrick Rose can’t seem to stay healthy. But it doesn’t seem to be impacting the Thunder at all. Probably because the core is so young. With about a month to go, OKC has clinched a playoff spot and looks like they’ll do some serious damage.
The Thunder (40-12) pulled away by outscoring Chicago 31-12 in the third quarter, allowing the Bulls to make only five of their 21 shots and forcing five turnovers. Oklahoma City clinched a playoff berth in the process, with the help of tiebreakers over the teams fighting for the Western Conference’s final spot in the postseason.
