Forget Irene, Hurricane Calipari Is Headed For Carolina? [PIC]

There’s no denying that the upcoming NCAA college basketball season will be dominated by the once again loaded UNC Tarheels and the Kentucky Wildcats.  Carolina and Kentucky are two of the NCAA’s most storied programs and figure to be in the national title picture once March Madness plays itself out as they both boast stacked rosters filled with potential future NBA players.

Kentucky coach John Calipari has once again reeled in the #1 rated recruiting class for the 3rd year running, featuring names like Anthony Davis, Michael Gilchrist, and Marquis Teague. In addition to the top flight recruits, Calipari also has the returning Terrence Jones, Doron Lamb, and Darius Miller at his disposal to provide some veteran leadership.

Roy Williams’ Tarheels boast one of the most talented front courts in the nation led by potential #1 draft pickHarrison Barnes. Also patrolling the paint will be future NBA pros Tyler Zeller and John Henson, along with Top 10 rated incoming freshman James McAdoo, nephew of NBA Hall of Famer Bob McAdoo. The UNC backcourt appears equally loaded with Dexter Strickland, Reggie Bullock, Kendall Marshall, and highly touted freshman PJ Hairston dominating from the perimeter.

Of course, both teams have arguably the most rabid fan bases and famous alumni in all of college and pro basketball. Fanatical UNC and UK fans don’t just originate from within the states of North Carolina and Kentucky but can be found all across the nation.

With their most recent clash on the hardwood coming in the form of a 79-67 Wildcat victory, sending Kentucky to yet another Final Four last March, it comes as no surprise that one die hard Kentucky fan decided to rub it in Tarheel fans’ faces about the devastating loss, even in the midst of Hurricane Irene:
