The writers on staff here at the TheHoopDoctors.com don’t really focus that much on the newest video game releases. But when we do, it’s usual because a software company is bringing back an old classic or the newest title has drastically improved game-play or includes some tremendously interesting characters.
Case in point when EA Sports decided to re-release the classic NBA Jam on your iPad, featuring updated players and when we brought you those funny Uncle Boomshakalaka videos.
Just last year about this time, both the video gaming world and NBA fans were ecstatic to learn that the G.O.A.T., Michael Jordan would not only be gracing the cover of the wildly popular NBA 2K11, but would also be included in game play.
Now that Jordan has been included in the mix, what will the executives at 2K Sports do next? This year’s edition, that’s due out October 4th, 2011, will go old school and feature 15 NBA Legends during their prime including such highly touted names as Wilt Chamberlain, Oscar Robertson, Larry Bird, and Julius Erving.
In the new Greatest Mode,, players will get to relive a legendary moment from all 15 legends, which will unlock the two teams that participated in that game. Once the legendary teams are unlocked, they can be pitted against modern day clubs.
Now we might finally find out how the ’95-’96 Bulls would fare against the ’82-’83 Sixers.
Here’s a listing of all 15 Legends in NBA 2K12:
