Air Jordan V ‘Fire Red’ Unreleased Sample

July 15, 2011 – Ben Berry

In 2006 when the Jordan V made its return, several original colorways were re-released among a few new colorways. For those who aren’t as familiar with the many original colorways of the Jordan V, there are technically two versions bearing the Fire Red colorway. One pair features an entire black sole with red only seen on the lines on the midsole while the other pair features red only on the midsole with black on the teeth and a white toecap. This pair is mostly comparable to the first one described.

The most noticeable change to this shoe is the color of the sole. Normally Jordan Vs have translucent bottoms which sit below the ‘sharkteeth’, but this pair swaps replaces the clear bottom with a red translucent tint making for a more subtle and monotone sole. The stitched ’23’ which normally sits on the outer heel is also absent from this shoe, again providing a more flush look on the white leather upper. This sneaker is an unreleased sample that possible could have been considered for 2008’s Countdown Packages; though the SKU number on this shoe is identical to the ‘Sunset’ WMNS Jordan V from 2006.

If this pair was released over any of the previous Jordan Vs would you have picked them up or passed on these opting for more of a original colorway? Let us know in the comments below.
