Lebron James Changes His Signature For Autographs

September 7, 2010 – Dr. Dime

Lebron James is now sporting a new jersey, in a new city, and for the trifecta he is now sporting a brand new signature. That’s right folks, Lebron ‘the marketing machine’ James has been working with Upper Deck, and decided it was a good idea to change his signature! No this is not another Lebron James joke, this is serious. I’d imagine Lebron and Upperdeck both stand to gain quite a bit of money with this latest Lebron decision in the Summer of 2010….

On July 8th, LeBron James sent shockwaves through the basketball community when he decided to take his talents to South Beach, trading in his number 23 Cavs jersey in for a number 6 Miam Heat jersey.

Along with the number change, LeBron has decided to change his signature as well. Since he signed on with Upper Deck Authenticated in 2003, James had always signed his first name with a looping “L” that closely resembled the start of his uniform No. 23. Now he’s tapered that with a more definable starting letter and added “#6” to each autograph.

“It just feels right. This marks a new beginning for me,” said James in an exclusive interview with Upper Deck’s Terry Melia on July 31 during his latest signing session for UDA, the sole supplier of his authentic memorabilia. “Miami represents a new chapter in my basketball career. I’m really looking forward to it. It’s gonna be fun. And I’m gonna do what I can to the best of my ability to bring home a championship to that city. {via Cardboard Connection}
