While former Ohio State and current Philadelphia 76ers player Evan Turner has un-ceremonially been given the nickname “Villain” by superblogger and Buckeye walk-on player Mark Titus, he thankfully has given up his title to 2 time reigning MVP, and Cleveland defector, Lebron James. While we all would agree that Lebron has taken a major PR and persona hit for his egomaniacal “The Decision” program to announce his decision to leave Cleveland to play alongside NBA All-Stars Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh in Miami.
The whole storyline seemed contrived and appeared to be straight from the mantra of Vince McMahon’s WWE world of chest thumping and fake beat downs. Seriously, doesn’t the whole lead-up to James’ announcement remind you of the drama of Wrestlemania, only to leave you disappointed in the end because foolishly we should have all seen it coming? In the wrestling world, heroes are called “babyfaces” and bad guys are considered “heals.” In many peoples eyes, Lebron’s legacy has taken a 180 degree turn from good to bad, and not just because of the disastrous display of his nationally televised decision. Over the past 2 seasons, Lebron has taken personality hits for refusing to shake hands after losing to Orlando in the ‘09 Eastern Finals, for embarrasing a ChicagoBulls ball boy, and now for not even having the decency to inform the Cavaliers that he was leaving until they found out on national television.
So in keeping with the theme of Lebron James and the wrestling world, DaddydoyleStudios has created a pretty funny mash-up video featuring the Miami Heat’s newest trio of players(James, Wade, and Bosh) by superimposing their heads onto iconic wrestlers like Hulk Hogan and Kevin Nash, as they spit their verbal diarrhea and give a vicious beating to the Cavs rather outspoken GM Dan Gilbert and the Cavaliers mascot. The video is pretty hilarious and also has cameos with NBA Commissioner David Stern as referee and features Delonte West getting cold-cocked by Wade, as he tries to enter the ring in aid of the Cavs mascot.
