As a walk-on redshirt sophomore last season at the University of Georgia, Connor Nolte had a lot of free time on his hands. He apparently has made good use of that time by becoming a world class trick shot artist. Partly because of that fame, he now also has been able to secure an internship with ESPN in Bristol, Connecticut, so maybe we will be seeing a lot more of him on the leading entertainment and sports network.
As he sat and learned from All SEC performers like Travis Leslie and Trey Thompkins on the Bulldogs roster, Nolte impressed the coaching staff enough to earn a full athletic scholarship for this season. But what many people are beginning to become familiar with is his tremendous skills as a trick shot artist. Recently his compilation video from last season, with a cameo by NBA Hall of Famer Charles Barkley has been featured on ESPN’s Sportsnation as well as Nolte’s own blog Passers Remorse.
I know what you are all thinking, that we’ve seen or heard of this before somewhere. Ohio State walk-on Mark Titus and his wildly popular Club Trillion site has gotten a lot of notoriety for doing a similar sort of thing, but in actuality, Nolte is the originator, with his site hitting the web months before Titus’. Hopefully Nolte is beginning to get some of the fame associated with the former Buckeye player.
What I like about Nolte’s trick shot mastery is that virtually ever shot is being taken in a gym rather than some other videos where they are shooting off of the top of a building or from a moving truck.
