Sometimes it’s hard to imagine that dunking sensation Blake Griffin, already a 4 time NBA All Star, is still only 25 years young.
He just turned 25 over the weekend, Sunday to be exact, and with a stellar resume that also includes #1 overall draft pick in 2009, NBA Rookie of the Year(2011), Slam Dunk Contest Champion(2011), he’s a shoe in to be one of the focal points on Team USA in the future.
This season alone, he has taken his game to another level, especially during the time All Star point guard Chris Paul has missed time with injuries, averaging 24.4 ppg, 9.7 rebounds, and ranking among the league leaders in double-doubles with 37.
Some argue that Griffin, and not Paul, has been the Clippers most important player and the one most responsible for the team’s stellar 47-20 mark this season, as he deserves consideration along with Lebron James and Kevin Durant in the 2014 MVP discussion.
To the average hoops fan, they all remember Griffin as the dunking phenom that once leapt clear over a Kia to win the 2011 NBA Dunk Contest but he has become much more than that as one of the most dominating big men in the Association today.
