Michael Jordan Thinks Women Faint In His Presence

January 21, 2011 – Allen Moll

Although Michael Jordan is universally known as the greatest basketball player of all-time, anyone who has ever seen him play in person knows that he also has a bit of a self-centered, dare I say arrogant side to his persona that wasn’t always on display when cameras were rolling. Surely any former teammates like Toni Kukoc, Luc Longely, or even the great Scottie Pippen can attest to being on the wrong side of MJ’s tirades when making a mistake during a game.

Even as an NBA General Manager and part owner, rumors are rampant within the Bobcats organization that the G.O.A.T can sometimes be a bit difficult to deal with.  Just ask former coach Larry Brown.   At the end of the day, most would agree that he is arrogant but surely one needs some measure of attitude to become the iconic hoops legend he is today.

One such example of Jordan’s arrogance came while on vacation in Anguilla over the holidays. MJ was at a resort on the Caribbean island, having lunch with NY Yankees star Derek Jeter and girlfriend Minka Kelly. Upon finishing his meal, Michael walked into another room of the resort when a woman suddenly fainted and fell to the floor.

At first Jordan didn’t seem too upset as he continued on his way but it was later reported that he called the hotel’s front desk to make sure that “the girl who passed out when she saw me was doing ok?”

In actuality, the woman was discussing with her doctor the details concerning how to fix her son’s broken nose and got so upset at the course of prescribed treatment that she fainted to the floor coincidentally just as the Hall of Famer walked by.

Surely he was just trying to be a classy, caring person and it was very thoughtful for him to call and check up on the fallen woman. I’m sure that some enthusiastic and feverish fans actually have fainted at the site of the basketball great but nonetheless it also showcases just how humongous of an ego Michael must have.

Don’t sweat it Mike, you have much more pressing issues on your plate like figuring out how the heck you are going to fix the sub .500 Bobcats. One clue might be to not resign one of the most underachieving #1 overall picks of all-time in Kwame Brown.  Just sayin…….
