By now the basketball world is all a buzz about the story of Lebron James getting dunked on by a college player from Xavier, and the subsequent confiscation of the cameramens’ footage by Nike, to avoid the replay going viral on the internet. Lebron’s reputation is his brand and his business, so I’m sure he has to protect that reputation. Then again, the video would have most likely been passed over without much more than few casual glances, until word got out that Lebron/Nike were trying to suppress it. If protecting his reputation was Lebron’s goal the whole thing sort of backfired, huh? But don’t worry Lebron, another #23 once had a moment of shame as well. I discovered a hidden gem in the video vaults of the legendary Michael Jordan getting schooled by a CEO of a company in Chicago at a charity event in 2003. MJ released the footage and it got a small buzz and quite a lighthearted reaction. Mr. James went in the opposite direction with his embarrassing footage and it has now become a big story, hurting his reputation. Want to see the MJ footage again getting schooled by the CEO?
