News is breaking this evening that Kobe Bryant’s wife, Vanessa Bryant, has filed for divorce today from the 5-time NBA Champion. Vanessa filed the papers this afternoon in Los Angeles citing “Irreconcilable Differences” related to Kobe once again cheating on her. After Vanessa stuck by Kobe during his sexual assault case in Colorado back in 2003, she feels betrayed to find out he has been cheating on her again, and apparently on multiple occasions as of late.
As one source puts it, “She’s been dealing with these incidents for a long time and has been a faithful wife, but she’s finally had enough,” adding, “This one is the straw that broke the camel’s back.”
And our sources say … Kobe “desperately” wants to win Vanessa back and will do “whatever it takes” to save their 10 1/2 year marriage. (Source)
Now that sounds like Kobe must really love her if he wants her back so bad, right? Well not so fast. Keep in mind that Vanessa didn’t sign any prenuptial agreements prior to their marriage, which means she’s entitled to half of Kobe’s entire wealth. On top of that she will likely also be entitled to spousal and child support payments from Kobe following the divorce. So I am not sayin’ Kobe doesn’t love his wife, but I’m also not saying he isn’t worried about all that money either.
On the bright side, for all you fellas out there, this woman is about to be single for the first time in over a decade. Any takers?
