We should finally get to see what the Joel Embiid hype is all about in Philly this year. The big man, who has yet to see regular season minutes, has been medically cleared and has had no set backs from the foot injuries that have sidelined him for two seasons. He should be a go when Sixers training camp opens up.
But when the regular season begins, don’t expect to see him out there averaging 45 minutes per game. The Sixers are easing into this with Embiid. As you can probably expect, he may be on a minutes restriction initially. Smart move.
Embiid said he'll "probably" have playing restrictions but they'll be because he hasn't played in years, not because of re-injury concern.
