Faried, Nuggets Revise Contract Extension

fariedamendmenthInitially, the Denver Nuggets offered a five-year, $60 million contract with their rising superstar Kenneth Faried a few days ago.

But now, both parties have reworked this agreement and has resulted to the finalizing of a four-year, $50 million deal, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports.

Wojnarwoski further explains about this new agreement:

After a closer examination of collective bargaining agreement fine print with the NBA on Monday morning, the fact that five-year deals on rookie extensions are only allowable for maximum contracts ultimately moved the sides toward reconstructing the extension.

As the years go by, Faried continues to improve exponentially and deservingly achieved a big rise in his market value. His relentlessness down the paint and all the intangibles that he’s able to offer every game is certainly a game changer for any team.

Clearly, the Nuggets will look to keep the 24-year-old power forward as he continues to rise and eventually become one of the NBA’s elite. He was a significant factor to Team USA’s success in the 2014 FIBA World Cup in Spain as they won the gold.

So far, Faried has averaged 12.1 points and 8.6 rebounds per game, throughout his three years in the league.
