Nuggets’ Danilo Gallinari’s Season is Over Before It Begins

Danilo-GallinariLast year, Denver’s Danilo Gallinari tore his ACL shortly before the playoffs began. It was tragic in that he was critical in making their offense flow and who knows how far Denver would’ve gotten with him.

In fact, Gallo only had surgery for a torn meniscus, but did not have ACL surgery. It was purposely delayed because it was thought that he would not need it. Turns out that was wrong. That’s a very unfortunate misdiagnosis.

Shortly after suffering the knee injury in an April 4 game against the Dallas Mavericks, Gallinari had surgery to repair a torn meniscus but the ACL reconstruction was delayed. There had been a belief on the doctor’s part that the ACL could be strengthened to play again without the traditional procedure, but that never happened, sources said.
