Shabazz Muhammad has gotten lost in the shuffle amidst the T’Wolves success this season and he is not happy about it.
Muhammad turned down a four-year, $40 million extension from Minnesota before the 2016-17 season and is currently on a one-year, minimum deal and is no longer in the rotation for the T’Wolves.
Muhammad has privately (he would be fined by the NBA for doing it publicly) requested to be traded or released by the team.

He is only averaging 3.7 points and 1.5 rebounds in 9.6 minutes per game in 31 appearances for Minnesota.
Muhammad has really put himself in a bind in his NBA career and I can see how he wouldn’t be a Thibodeau guy with his inefficient play and erratic effort on the defensive end.
Hopefully, for his sake, Minnesota grants his request for a release and is able to grab an opportunity elsewhere.
