As I am sure you are aware of by now, Fox News Pundit Laura Ingraham used her platform to admonish LeBron James a week and a half ago for his comments about current U.S. President Donald Trump not caring about the people and that his repeated actions and statements had essentially made LeBron numb to his divisiveness.
Ingraham decided to berate James for his opinions and dissent with the current administration and essentially question his level of intelligence and right to use his platform to have an opinion or speak out on these kind of topics. She ended her prose by encouraging James to “shut up and dribble.”
I am not going to link to the video here because I am choosing not to share or promote Ingraham’s ignorant and immature message of hate, but you can find it pretty easily for a point of reference.
San Antonio Spurs Head Coach (never one to shy away from sharing his opinion on any societal matter) shared his disgust with Ingraham’s comments and how they are not representative at all of the kind of role model James has been to the community.
Here is what he told reporters when asked about the situation before Sunday’s afternoon game between the Cavaliers and Spurs in Cleveland:

Popovich is supremely qualified to discuss these kind of issues as a former major in the Air Force and U.S. Intelligence Agent and as always his wise, measured and thoughtful approach to these touchy subjects are a welcome side to a lot of the headline grabbing bluster that you see in today’s media.
Can we just get a Popovich/Kerr ticket going right now for the 2020 presidential election? They would have my vote.
