For those of you who were dreaming of getting a sneak peek (finally) of the 76ers brittle but potentially elite duo of Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid on the hardwood in the 2017 NBA Summer League in Las Vegas, like many things when it comes to the 76ers, you’ll have to wait and trust the process.
76ers Team President Bryan Colangelo told reporters this week that Simmons and Embiid will sit out summer league in order to rest up for the 2017-18 season.

This is sad, but not surprising news. It is probably a good call for the 76ers, who sorely need to do whatever possible to get these two healthy and on the court together next season.
Furkan Korkmaz (great name) another 1st round pick of the 76ers in 2016, is not expected to play in summer league as well.
The 76ers are one of the few franchises that participate in two of the three summer leagues, as they will participate in the Utah Summer League from July 3-6 and the NBA Summer League from July 7-17.
While having Embiid and Simmons on the court would have been even more high-profile, with Lonzo Ball likely participating and Lavar Ball attending, one can assume there will be plenty of intrigue and attention on this year’s summer league still.
