No, Draymond Green Isn’t Sorry for Dissing Cavaliers Fans After Warriors’ Game 4 Loss

The NBA Finals needs a Game 6.

For obvious reasons, a five-game series would suck. We want competitive sets. Getting to a Game 6 adds some mystery to the proceedings, even if, deep down, we know the Cleveland Cavaliers have no chance in hell of beating the Golden State Warriors after falling in a 3-0 death trap.

But getting a Game 6 is further important because it means Green has to play in Cleveland again. And we should most definitely want him to face off against Cavaliers fans one more time.

On the heels of Game 4, which included a technical foul controversy, Green chastised the city of Cleveland for playing “Hit the Road Jack” when he wasn’t actually ejected:

Now, it wasn’t just him throwing shade at the game ops people. He was essentially calling out the entire city of Cleveland.

And he’s not sorry.

Green was asked whether he’d retract his comments, and his answer, not surprisingly, was basically “Hell no,” per Anthony Slater of the Bay Area News Group:

So yeah, the NBA Finals needs a Game 6. The Cavaliers fans will no doubt respond to Green’s comments with plenty of boos and profanity, and they’ll be extra inspired because they’re all of a sudden staring at a 3-2 deficit rather than a 3-0 hole.

But will there be a Game 6?

Conventional wisdom says no. The Warriors’ Core Four won’t combine to shoot 9-of-34 from beyond the arc again, and the Cavaliers probably aren’t going to put down an NBA-record 24 three-pointers. Still, if there is a basketball god, or basketball gods, they’ll make sure we get a Game 6 so that this rivalry between Green and the city of Cleveland gets one last go-round this year.
