One of the most interesting beefs in the NBA has officially been quashed…according to Kendrick Perkins.
While making an appearance on KG’s Area 21 following the Golden State Warriors’ deconstruction of the Utah Jazz, Perkins indicated that Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook, whom he played with on the Oklahoma City Thunder, are once again on speaking terms. Here’s his story, per The Vertical’s Michael Lee:

Perkins says Durant was the one to reach out after Westbrook broke the NBA’s triple-double record. This is a pretty smart move by Durant—ironing out the wrinkles when Westbrook is most likely to be in something resembling a good mood. Some of the groundwork was likely also laid during All-Star Weekend, or at least during the All-Star game itself, when the two had no choice but to pass the ball to one another.
And so ends this beef. We always knew it would be temporary, but it’s slightly surprising the two hammered out some of their crap before the playoffs even started.
What are we supposed to talk about now?
Well, Perkins said he thinks Durant will go back to Oklahoma City. He wasn’t clear when. It certainly won’t be this summer. Durant has a player option, but the Thunder need to trade so much salary to open up the necessary cap space.
So there ya go. Discuss this amongst yourselves, insofar as you believe Perkins is a valid basketball insider.
