Acquiring DeMarcus Cousins hasn’t exactly guaranteed the Pelicans a playoff spot in the West. There are still some teams ahead of them for 8th in the West. That’s a lot to ask for with less than a month remaining in the regular season. It makes you wonder whether or not he’ll want to remain in Louisiana when he becomes a free agent in 2018.
His former college teammate, John Wall, seems to think Cousins will be on the move. Perhaps to D.C.? According to Wall, Cousins has informed him that he would join the Wizards. That would certainly make things interesting out East, as the Wiz feel like they’re one piece away from being a legit contender.
“(DeMarcus Cousins) said he would come to D.C., but he didn’t know what was going to happen,” Wizards guard John Wall told The Undefeated. “I didn’t know he was going to be traded like that. We thought it was going to be later on or he was just going to stay [in Sacramento]. It shocked me just like it shocked him.”
