Ben Gordon to Make Debut in D-League

The former No.3 pick of the 2004 NBA Draft and legendary microwave-esque scoring threat, Ben Gordon appears to be making an attempt at an NBA comeback.

Gordon hasn’t been seen in the NBA since the 2014-15 season when he filled a very minor role for the Orlando Magic.

He is still only 33 years old and if he is still in top-notch shape and has some of his quickness left he could potentially fill a role as a bench shooter and scorer for the right team. During his career he was a 40 percent three-point shooter and once averaged 21.4 points per game for a young Bulls team in the mid-2000s.

The downside for Gordon is that he has always been an undersized two-guard that is a negative defender and needs possessions revolved around him in order to be an effective offensive weapon.

Gordon isn’t the first former NBA player who has joined the Texas Legends in an attempt to return to the NBA.

It seems unlikely that Gordon finds a legitimate role or home in the NBA again, but just for fun please enjoy these highlights (in off-putting Irish music) of his classic duel with Ray Allen in the first round of the 2009 NBA playoffs…
