Giannis Antetokounmpo May Work Out with Dirk Nowitzki Over the Offseason

Watching Giannis Antetokounmpo play, there is really only one glaring weakness to his game: the absence of an outside shot.

And he may be prepared to change that.

Fielding questions after the Milwaukee Bucks’ 111-93 victory over the Brooklyn Nets on Thursday night, Antetokounmpo got nuanced when talking about his shooting form. Then someone mentioned to him that Kristaps Porzingis and Dirk Nowitzki might work out together, and asked whether he would consider doing the same.

Antetokounmpo answered in the affirmative. As it turns out, in fact, there is already an invitation from Nowitzki’s shooting coach, per James Herbert of CBS Sports:

That noise you hear is the sound of 29 other NBA teams quaking with fear. If Antetokounmpo somehow develops a three-point shot, a mid-range game and/or a one-legged fadeaway it won’t be long until he’s a top-five player in the NBA.

He’s already doing everything else. The Bucks start him at shooting guard. But they use him as a point guard on offense. But he protects the rim like a center on defense. But other teams assign power forwards to defend hiim. But they send guards, too.

Basically, Antetokounmpo is already a star without a true outside touch. Imagine what will happen if develops one.
