Prior to the Miami Heat’s Thursday night victory over the Chicago Bulls, two things became clear.
First, Dwyane Wade and Heat president Pat Riley, despite not talking since their basketball partnership dissolved, are totally cool.
Second, both dudes need to beef up their email skills.
Riley apparently sent Wade an email the morning of the game—one he had been working on for a while, per Greg Cote of the Miami Herald:
Pat Riley just told us he did finally send that long-saved email to Wade. Declined to say when.

What else does Pat Riley have saved in his drafts? A farewell to LeBron James? An apology to the New York Knicks organization? Do people actually save drafts of emails anymore?
Wade, for his part, saw Riley’s email. But, per Ira Winderman of the Sun-Sentinel, he didn’t have time to open it:
Wade said he did get the email from Riley, but hasn't had time to read it yet.

So, like, who doesn’t have time to open a single email? Sure, Wade probably gets a crap ton. Well, actually, I get a crap ton. He probably gets a crap ton squared.
But this one, you’d think, was special. It was from Riley, whom he hasn’t spoken to since leaving Miami. Did he think it was a mistake or some sort of innocuous coinky-dink that Riley’s name would end up in his inbox the day he’s playing the Heat for the first time as a member of the Chicago Bulls?
Hopefully, for Riley’s sake, Wade can find the time to open his email sometime before Christmas.
