The pain of losing in the Finals to the Cavs still has be very fresh for the Warriors. Especially given they were up 3-1, lost game 7 on their home court, and won 73 regular season games.
To make it worse for some of their players, they’ll have to see at least one member of the Cavs this summer. Klay Thompson, Draymond Green and Harrison Barnes are all members of Team USA and will be representing the country in the 2016 Olympics in Brazil in a month and a half. Much to their chagrin, so is Kyrie Irving who was nearly as important to that series win as LeBron James.
According to Irving, he’ll likely troll the Warriors’ players and rub in in their face every chance he gets.
“There’s a connection that we all share that’s bonded for life of USA Basketball that allows us to be comfortable and being with one another. But, you know, there will be a few jabs thrown … because there are three Warriors on this team, and I am the current champion, so I will be throwing it in their faces.”
