Rudy Gobert Drops Dragon Ball Z Reference to Own Twitter Troll

Rudy Gobert
Rudy Gobert takes no prisoners on Twitter.

Late in the fourth quarter of the Utah Jazz’s 93-89 victory over the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday night, DeMar DeRozan drove his way past Gordon Hayward. That’s typically no big deal. The Jazz have a tendency to funnel ball-handlers into the paint, blatantly daring them to score on Gobert (and Derrick Favors).

Spoiler: DeRozan scored on Gobert:

This was of course a big enough jam to cause a mini-Twitter meltdown. Gobert is viewed as the best rim protector in the NBA, as well as one of the premier Defensive Player of the Year candidates. To see him get utterly brutalized in what’s presented as his comfort zone is fodder for provocative headlines that extoll DeRozan.

It’s also a means for some keyboard warriors to say some not-so-nice things on social media.

Exhibit A:

Oh, snap.

That dude must’ve been feeling pretty good about himself, thoroughly owning Gobert like that.

But then Gobert, an understated Twitter follow, by the way, destroyed said dude by dropping a Dragon Ball Z reference:

Holy. Crap.

First of all, I’m not even sure Dragon Ball Z is still being called Dragon Ball Z. So if my ignorance is showing, I apologize.

I’m also not even supporting the shaming of Twitter trolls.

I’m just saying that next time someone decides to mock Gobert at all, let alone after a win, maybe they shouldn’t.
