Mark Cuban Wants Mavericks Fans To Boo DeAndre Jordan

Mark Cuban would like to remind Dallas Mavericks fans that DeAndre Jordan pulled the dip on them in free agency over the summer.

Remember that? Remember when he said he would sign, and was pretty much signed, but then decided not to sign, breaking Twitter, along with all the unspoken offseason rules ever, in the process? Cuban wants you to channel that initial anger, that momentary hurt, into a boo-filled greeting for Jordan when he visits Dallas for the first time on Wednesday night.

As Cuban said, per ESPN.com’s Tim MacMahon and Justin Verrier:

“I think they’re going to have fun with it,” Cuban said. “You know, that’s what they should do. You come to games to have fun. Look, this is not thermonuclear war. This is a basketball game, and for fans, it’s supposed to be fun. Any other business, we would have had more fun with it, but just the nature, we can’t. But yeah, I hope they have fun with it. I hope they scream, they yell.”

At least one reporter was smart enough to ask Cuban if he himself was going to boo, per the Los Angeles Times‘ Ben Bolch:

No, Cuban won’t boo.

OK, maybe he will.

But even if he doesn’t join in on the jeering, he carries with him a memento from the beginning of last July, when everything he thought he built came undone.

What I’m trying to say is Cuban saved all his text messages with DeAndre Jordan:

Will he let us read them?

Apparently not.

At least not right now:

Come on, Cubes! Give us something. Anything.

Tell us what DeAndre said—OH MY GOD HE ACTUALLY LIED ABOUT BEING ON A DATE WHEN HE WAS REALLY CHILLING WITH BLAKE GRIFFIN:

In case you’ve forgotten, no, DeAndre Jordan didn’t handle the situation with Dallas well. And Cuban clearly isn’t ready to forgive or forget.

Until he deletes those messages between himself and Jordan, and until the Mavericks escape this pit of mediocrity they’ve been trapped in, the one DeAndre Jordan was supposed to help them climb out of, this months-long saga will know no true end.
