After first seeing Chris Paul in an unidentified sneaker in August when the Los Angeles Clippers participated in the first NBA Global Games in Africa, we now have official confirmation on the upcoming Jordan CP3.IX.
The Jordan CP3.IX is Chris Paul’s ninth signature sneaker with Jordan Brand as he gets ready top start his eleventh NBA season.
Featuring the new “Striking Control” cushioning system, the Jordan CP3.IX sits ontop of a nine-chamber Zoom Air bag in the forefoot. A new web-lacing system is seen on the CP3.IX which is basically four lines that cross the top of the forefoot for improved lockdown.
For a lead colorway of Chris Paul’s latest signature sneaker is the ‘Emerald Dragon’ Jordan CP3.IX (seen on this post) is the first pair to come out in the US which China will also have a ‘Yellow Dragon’ colorway as well.
The dragon theme is seen throughout the CP3.IX by way of the scale-like material used on the upper & detailing throughout the sneaker.
In my opinion, the Jordan CP3 series has consistently been the best non-Air Jordan/Retro series that Jordan Brand has to offer. Despite last years’ model failing to improve on the CP3.VI and CP3.VII, this new Jordan CP3.IX looks to put Chris Paul’s signature series back atop Jumpman mountain by having both great performance tech and good aesthetics to translate from in-game to on-street.
The ‘Emerald Dragon’ Jordan CP3.IX is available NOW for $130 on the Nike webstore with more colorways to follow.
