Derrick Rose recently returned to contact drills in practice and his return could be soon. At least, Tom Thibodeau hopes so. With the playoffs beginning in less than two weeks, having Rose in there to get his timing and wind back would be crucial. But of course, the ball is in Derrick’s court at this point.
Chicago Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau said Sunday that he’s hopeful point guard Derrick Rose will return to action this week, according to K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune.
Rose has not played since undergoing surgery to address a torn meniscus in his right knee. The surgery was his third over the last three years.
Rose also had procedures to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee and the meniscus in his right knee. Last Monday, Rose reportedly took full contact at practice.
“Only he knows his body,” Thibodeau said Sunday, according to Johnson. “He’s got to continue to work through it. I trust him. When he says he’s ready, he’s ready.”
