It was a thrilling Wednesday night at the capital, as the visiting Oklahoma City Thunder faced off with the Washington Wizards for an epic showdown between two of the elite teams in the league right now.
All throughout the game, both teams clearly played with a purpose and losing was not an option for them. Eventually, this match-up deservingly went to overtime. And in the extra period, it was the Thunder who came out with a 105-103 victory, thanks to their all-star guard Russell Westbrook’s clutch play at the end.
With exactly 3.6 seconds remaining in overtime, Westbrook was able to free himself from the defending Bradley Beal to catch the inbound pass and immediately streaked down the lane for the game-winning layup.
