Watch: Tony Mitchell Wins 2nd Straight D-League Dunk Contest

tony mitchell dunk contest rt floatIn case you missed it, Saturday afternoon NBA TV was lucky enough to telecast this year’s D-League All Star Game, 3 Point Contest, and annual Dunk Contest.

It was supposed to serve as an appetizer to big brother NBA’s main even Saturday night, but because of the many changes in format and perceived lack of star power, many have argued that the D-League events, especially the dunkers were a way more exciting version of must see television.

While former Oregon Duck and Kyle Singler’s little brother EJ Singler won the 3 Point Shootout, Houston Rockets rookie Robert Covington won All Star MVP, and an additional shout out to former Baylor star Pierre Jackson is well deserved, the true star of the afternoon was Tony Mitchell, who took home his 2nd consecutive D-League Slam Dunk crown.

Not to be confused with fellow D-Leaguer Tony Mitchell, who is property of the Detroit Pistons,  former Alabama standout Tony Mitchell made quick work of fellow participants, Ra’Shad James, Darren White, and Thanasis Antetokounmpo(big brother to Giannis of the Bucks), finishing with a self alley-oop that brought the house down…….
