Watch: Every Made FG In Melo’s Record Breaking 62 Pt Explosion

Carmelo-Anthony3In case you missed it, over the weekend New York Knicks superstar Carmelo Anthony dropped a franchise record 62 points on the Charlotte Bobcats, making it the highest scoring game ever at Madison Square Garden.

Melo made 23 of 35 shots from the field including 10-10 from the FT line and 6-10 from behind the arc.

For good measure, and to satisfy his pundits that he does nothing more than score, Anthony also added 13 rebounds and committed zero turnovers in the record setting explosion.

To make the accomplishment even more amazing, Melo sat the final 7+ minutes of the game with the Knicks holding a 30 point lead, or he may have made a legitimate run at Kobe Bryant’s magical 81 point game back in 2006.

Carmelo Anthony joined an exclusive list in becoming just the sixth player in the last 25 seasons to collect at least 60 points and 10 rebounds in a game, joining Tracy McGrady(’04), Shaquille O’Neal(’00), David Robinson(’94), Michael Jordan(’90), and Karl Malone(’90).

As for team records, he broke Hall of Famer Bernard King’s legendary 60 point Christmas Day barrage at MSG back in 1984, that stood for nearly 30 seasons.

The 62 point outburst finally gave the disgruntled Knicks fans something to smile about after the team was riding a 4 game losing streak heading into the game and are suffering through a disappointing 16-27 season heading into Sunday’s game against the LA Lakers.

Check out all 23 of Melo’s made field goals during his record setting 62 point game……….
