Today kicks off our bi-weekly feature called ‘Starting Five’!
In this section, we will feature different individuals and the five basketball sneakers they are playing in at that time. Not only will we highlight what that person laces up on the court, but they will also tell us one thing they like & don’t like about the kicks. To start off, we are featuring shooting guard Justin Garris of CMC Casablanca as the first subject.
Justin isn’t just a random basketball player overseas, he has literally played professional basketball all over the world. Going in the first round as the 2nd overall pick in the 2011 NBL Canada draft, he went to the Summerside Storm and received limited minutes averaging 5 PPG in only 8 minutes a game. Leaving after a single season, he is now playing in Morocco for CMC Casablanca. Currently at the end of their preseason, Garris has been a breakout star averaging 35 PPG which includes a 45 point, 8 rebound, and 5 assist performance.
This is the rare opportunity to have a pro basketball player wear/test popular hoops sneakers; what a better way to kick off our Starting Five section? Read thru the five sneakers Justin Garris of CMC Casablanca is wearing on the court these days.
Like: The comfort along with the grip. Definitely one of the better sneakers I have ever played in.
Don’t Like: I don’t like how the sneakers begin to squeak after a while. And they crease easily.
Like: The extremely comfortable upper. Sneakers made me feel even more athletic. Very durable.
Don’t Like: The air bubble in the heel of the sneaker popped after a while. Also, the sneaker scuffs very easily due to the patent leather.
Like: Literally felt like lacing my feet into suction cups. Extremely comfortable in the area surrounding the ball of my feet.
Don’t Like: The traction on the soles isn’t the best, which leads to considerable sliding on the court. Also the heel area could be a little more comfortable.
Like: The cushioning directly under the sole feels like walking on bubbles. Seems to have considerable ankle support as well.
Don’t Like: The cushy feeling underneath the sole fades after a short period of time.
Like: Pretty nice grip on the court. Extremely durable sneakers as well.
Don’t Like: The high ankle support in the back of the ankle area restricts certain on court movements
