Since the unveiling at the 2012 Olympic Games in London a few months ago, the LeBron X has been a steady conversation topic since Team USA brought home the gold; mainly for the price. Now that $300+ rumor has been dispelled and it is known that the base model will retail for $180 with the fully-equipeed LeBron X+ Sports Pack selling for $250, Nike has officially announced the LeBron X basketball sneaker.
Inspired by diamonds, the LeBron X focuses on the three creating points of the precious stone: heat, time, & pressure. The ‘Blue Diamond’ colorway is likened to James on the court; electric. The pair that is said to be worn at Miami Heat away games is given the ‘Pressure’ nickname likely do to the extra amount of pressure felt at games played away from the American Airlines Arena. The ‘Cutting Jade’ LeBron X draws its color inspiration from diamonds used to cut jade in China and also gives a nod to the Far East market.
