Typically, the greater the player you were, the less likely you are get a head coaching gig in the NBA. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was screaming about that for years, and Patrick Ewing has been very patiently waiting his turn.
He’s been the assistant coach in Orlando for years and looks like he’s finally getting some love. Michael Jordan is interested in giving Ewing a shot at the head coaching gig for the Charlotte Bobcats. The way the Bulls owned the Knicks during their playing days, this would be fitting for Jordan to be Ewing’s boss.
Patrick Ewing could be well on his way to getting his first NBA head coaching job. He will interview with the Charlotte Bobcats, who happen to be owned by old friend and rival Michael Jordan.
