While shot-blocking big man Nerlens Noel has vaulted to the top of the Class of 2012 high school rankings, there’s no denying that high scoring, highlight reel forward Shabazz Muhammed will make the biggest immediate impact on the collegiate level.
As one of the few remaining still uncommitted HS seniors, Shabazz is in high demand leading up to his self imposed announcement as to his college choice on April 11th.
Despite several recent alarming rumors that he may not be eligible for college, top tier schools like Kentucky, UCLA, Kansas, UNLV, Duke, and USC continue to scramble for the services of the dynamic small forward.
With the rosters set for the 2012 McDonald’s All American Game being played live on ESPN on Wednesday, March 28th@9PM, the annual dunk contest prior to the McDonald’s Game recently took place involving top recruits like Muhammed, Alex Polythress and Archie Goodwin (both Kentucky recruits), Anthony Bennett, Marcus Smart, and Gatorade Women’s POY 6’3 Breanna Stewart.
While Stewart amazed the crowd with some sweet dunks, Muhammed’s outstanding athleticism was too much as he held off future Wildcat Archie Goodwin in the Finals.
