As the only player in NBA history of both Chinese and Taiwanese decent, there’s no doubt New York Knicks point guard Jeremy Lin is living a life-long dream. After walking on at Harvard University, then going undrafted, Lin finds himself as the focal point of the Knicks offense with Carmelo Anthony hobbling and Amare Stoudemire still out finalizing the details of his brother’s funeral.
After amnesty-ing 5 Time NBA All Star Chauncey Billups prior to the season and newly acquired Baron Davis still not fully recovered from injuries, coach D’Antoni has been forced to relegate his team’s PG duties to 3rd year guard Toney Douglas.
After discovering that Douglas is more of a defensive force and 3 point shooter than offensive facilitator, the team recalled Jeremy Lin as insurance from D-League affiliate Erie Baysox.
Fast forward 3 games, and Lin has been the most pleasant surprise of the season(their haven’t been many) as the 6‘3 and 200lb Lin has gone off for 25, 28, and 23 points respectively, helping the Knicks to 3 straight wins, and almost single-handedly keeping NY in the hunt for an Eastern Conference Playoff spot.
In Wednesday night’s 107-93 win over the Wizards, Lin(23 Pts and 10 assists) held his own against superstar point guard John Wall(29 Pts and 6 assists), even showing up one of the top highlight reel point guards in the league, with a Sportscenter moment of his own………
