Blake Griffin Shows Some Personality in New Ads

November 18, 2011 – Kevin Burke

Not that long ago, we showed you a Kia commercial starring pitchman, Blake Griffin. Now, we all remember Blake jumping over the hood of a car (a Kia, ironically) during last year’s dunk contest so naturally, they thought it would be a good idea to use cars and dunking again in a commercial. I don’t know about you but when I see Blake Griffin, I wouldn’t exactly say that he exudes personality. He usually has the same expression on his face regardless of what is transpiring in the game. And if you’ve seen any of his interviews, you’ll know that those can be pretty dry as well.

But that dryness has actually translated to good humor is these two :30 Kia spots. With some good editing and production, they were able to make Blake seem as if he’s a funny guy. And he was able to pull it off with his patented expression-less demeanor. But, I will say that the commercials are funny and effective because they are able to pull out his personality.
