Alot of news out of Nets country these days. First, Deron Williams will play in Turkey during an NBA lockout, now it’s being reported that once the lockout is lifted, the Nets will be after Tayshaun Prince and Nene.
Williams, a two-time All-Star, is the central basketball figure in the team’s upcoming move to Brooklyn. He can opt out of his contract after next season and is on record saying he wants to remain a Net, though he wants an upgrade in the supporting cast. Two unrestricted free agents, Denver’s power forward/center Nene, and Detroit’s small forward Tayshaun Prince, will be the Nets’ prime targets when the lockout ends. Kris Humphries is a priority to re-sign — but only at a reasonable price.
Nets officials, who are under an NBA gag order that forbids comment on any NBA matters, declined to discuss Williams’ impending move.
