Although this isn’t the first work stoppage in league history, this one feels different. As usual, contact between team and players isn’t allowed. That includes Twitter, which comes with some hefty fines.
Coaches, general managers and other front-office officials are allowed to follow players on Twitter, for example, but they can’t send them a message or re-tweet a player’s message, a source told ESPN’s Ric Bucher.
Teams were told by the NBA front office that any violation will draw a $1 million fine and the possible loss of draft picks, league sources told Bucher.
