I remember watching an episode of The Tonight Show with Jay Leno a few years ago where the guest was Michael Jordan, via satellite. During the interview, Jay asked Mike if he still plays basketball, and if he can still dunk. Up until that point, it was a fun, light-hearted back-and-forth between the two. When that question was asked, the smile disappeared from Jordan’s face right before he responded, “are you stupid?” much to the delight of the audience and Jay himself. Now, he wasn’t exactly offended by the question, but I’m sure he was thinking “do you know who I am?”
Recently, at a clinic with young ball players, a girl asked Mike if he can still dunk. I’m sure he was taken aback by that question as well. Here was his response:
Without even having seen that video, there was no doubt in my mind that he could still throw it down. In fact, he did that so effortlessly that I’m willing to bet he can still catch a reverse alley-oop. He’ll still be dunking well in to his 50s.
