Yesterday, the internets were set a blaze with a video that went ultra viral (over 4M views in 2 days) of a homeless guy from Columbus, Ohio named Ted Williams that has the most awesome and yet shocking radio voice possible. The voice is not only perfect for radio, but his face just happens to be perfect for radio as well. I’m not trying to poke fun at the man, i’m just pointing out the obvious. He’s had some rough times of late, admittedly stemming from drug and alcohol abuse. But he’s clean now and looking for a chance at redemption.
Thanks to our brothers at Guyism.com we were told that the Cleveland Cavaliers are taking care of one of their own from Ohio by hiring Williams to do voice and radio work for them. They have also gone as far as finding him a new home and are offering to pay his mortgage for a while. Seriously. This is the sort of stuff that makes me proud to be part of the internet/blogosphere to see the power of viral marketing and the good it can do for those in need. For those of you that aren’t familiar with Guyism.com, they are basically the Michael Jordan of men’s interests sites. And you know how much The Hoop Docs love the GOAT.
