Surely many New York Knicks basketball fans are still a tad disappointed in not landing Lebron James this Summer as the savior for the franchise. But getting Amare Stoudemire as a back-up plan isn’t too shabby since “STAT” brings immediate star power as well as a nasty demeanor and some otherwise all-worldly basketball skills on the court to the “Mecca of Basketball,” Madison Square Garden.
Playing his entire career in Phoenix, Stoudemire has had to force feed his way onto the national stage by throwing down some of the Association’s most ferocious dunks and hilariously funny All Star ad campaigns in recent years, which in turn has made him a media darling as a special guest on late night talk shows or as a product pitchman.
Playing in the biggest media market in the country, Amare should have no problem making his way onto our television screens as evidence of his recent appearance on the Late Show with David Letterman where he helps Dave read off his famous Top Ten list featuring Ten Reasons Why Amare is Excited to be a Knick:
