Wade Hamstring Getting Better; Not Ready to Return to Miami Heat

Dwyane Wade’s strained right hamstring is improving. How soon he returns to the court with the Miami Heat remains unclear.

Wade’s hamstring is “virtually pain-free,” Heat coach Erik Spoelstra says. But the Heat won’t rush the 2006 NBA finals MVP back into the lineup, citing a desire to make sure he’s fully healed before risking anything further.

Heat teammate LeBron James says he’d like to see Wade back with the team before the preseason finale against Orlando on Oct. 22. Miami opens the regular season in Boston on Oct. 26.
