Fear The Deer!
That is the official slogan adopted by the upstart Milwaukee Bucks during the latter parts of the ’09-’10 NBA season as they made an improbable run into the playoffs. Even though they lost arguably their best player, Andrew Bogut, to a grisly dislocated elbow injury at the end of the regular season, the Bucks are showing some tenacity by already winning 3 games and are only one game away from eliminating the favored Atlanta Hawks in their 1st Round playoff series.
During those games, the Bucks mascot, named Bango, is a crowd pleaser. Recently he did a full 360 dunk off the top of a ladder, and is arguably one of the most exciting and energetic mascots in the league. No doubt he has been on a tear recently, and nobody knows why. Maybe he’s trying to give the Raptors mascot. who is known for devouring cheerleaders, a run for his or her money?
But the video he made before the start of the Bucks/Hawks series has me thinking he may need some anger management classes. It’s true that the action on the court between the two competing teams has gotten a bit testy but Bango shows on the video that he has some lingering anger issues over the match-up, since he basically goes around pummeling anyone wearing an Atlanta Hawks jersey. One has to wonder if it was Brandon Jennings was in the Bango costume and was exacting some revenge for losing out on the NBA Rookie of the Year Award to Tyreke Evans.
