Phoenix Suns forward, Amare Stoudemire, has been tearing up the NBA ever since the Suns decided not to deal the 5 time All-Star at this season’s trading deadline. He has seemingly been on a mission by putting up averages of more than 27 ppg and 11 rebounds since mid February. In fact, he has been a dunking machine this whole season leading up to his impending free agency at the end of the year. No doubt, Stoudemire has been a big part of the Suns winning 14 of their last 16 games to earn the #4 seed in the playoffs.
Why would the Suns even consider getting rid of Amare? Especially while he can still do this on a game-by-game basis. Seriously, some lucky team this Summer will wind up getting a chiseled, low post dynamo, who seems to get enjoyment from banging on opponent heads each and every night.
Good news Knicks and Nets fans. Rumor has it that the man known simply as STAT may be interested in coming to the East Coast, bringing his combination of his brand of ferocious hoops and a knack of producing some pretty funny videos to the Tri-state area.
In surfing the net, I stumbled onto a great video of Amare’s Top 10 Poster Dunks of the season. The title of top “poster dunks” is a bit misleading since most of the players attempting to defend Amare’s thunderous rolls to the hoop appear like they are trying to get out of the way rather than attempting to defend against Stoudemire. Nonetheless, it’s a very entertaining video for those who love one-handed tomahawk jams.
It’s just an observation but, take notice in the video that most of Amare’s dunks come off of assists from Steve Nash. I wonder how he will fare next season with his new team and without the services of Mr. Nash serving up those tasty dimes?
