Lebron James has Successful Jaw Surgery

Lebron James

June 3, 2009 – Dr. Browntorious

I’m not sure if many of you noticed or not (Doc Dime in our shop did mention to me during the Cavaliers 2nd Round Series) that Lebron James had a bit of a protrusion from his right jaw. It looked like a small lump. Well it is now coming to light that Doc Dime wasn’t just imagining things, Lebron James did in fact have a benign growth near his jaw for the last few months. It was announced yesterday that Lebron underwent a successful surgery on his salivary gland to remove the growth.

Although fairly non-invasive, Lebron had decided to wait until his season was over to have the procedure taken care of to avoid any possible interruption in playing during the post-season. Lebron James clearly was hoping this was his year to finally get back to the Finals and possibly win his first NBA Championship. Orlando beat Cleveland in 6 games in the Eastern Conference Finals, and will be playing Kobe and the Lakers in the Finals starting tomorrow.

Lebron James is currently recovering in the Cleveland Clinic where he had the procedure taken care of, and is expecting to return home either today or tomorrow. Not to worry Cavalier fans, Lebron is fine and will be back to business shortly. Maybe next year, will be your year?

Crazy, I noticed that same thing. In fact I pointed it out to a few friends that his right jaw was extra pointy and big and they all just shrugged it off.

I take issue with your characterization that the procedure is “fairly non-invasive”. The procedure is quite invasive and requires a surgeon with great skill in order for the patient to avoid nerve damage and to minimize facial scarring.
